One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised and Impressed Grapes Decoration, New England origin, late 18th or early 19th century, ovoid jug with footed base and tooled spout, decorated with an incised and cobalt-highlighted design of a leafy vine bearing impressed grape clusters. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Provenance: Property of a New York State collector. Base chips. Faint spider line around base, probably in-the-firing. Some in-the-firing crazing to shoulder.
