Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird-on-Stump Decoration, Stamped "WHITE'S UTICA", New York State origin, circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a bird with turned head and long tail, perched on a stylized stump. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent overall condition with some small, in-the-firing lines to bottom edge and a small flake to handle.
