Scarce Two-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J.M. HICKERSON / STRASBURG / VIRGINIA", circa 1890, ovoid pitcher with tall collar, decorated with a central flower flanked by swags. Additional swag decoration to collar. Shoulder impressed with rare J.M. Hickerson circular maker's mark including a star. Restored handle. Varnish to base area. An in-the-firing line across underside, continuing onto base in two places. H 12 5/8".
