Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Flask, Dated "1837", New York State origin, 1837, flattened form with semi-rounded spout molding, decorated on one side with the brushed cobalt date "1837" and on the reverse with a small abstract floral motif. A glazed-over iron ping to shoulder. A spout chip with a 3/8" hairline descending from it. A tight Y-shaped vertical line to side of flask near base, measuring 3 3/4". H 8 5/8".
