Four-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Chicken Pecking Corn Decoration, attributed to Brady & Ryan, Ellenville, NY, circa 1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a chicken pecking kernels of corn from a stylized ground. Some exfoliation to right of decoration. A 5" vertical hairline on side of crock. Small chips to interior of rim. A small, shallow chip to one handle. Some spots of staining. Some fry to heavier applications of cobalt.
