Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stamped "A. MELCHER & CO. / MANUFACTURERS / LOUISVILLE, KY", third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, thin rim molding, and applied lug handles, impressed with Anton Melcher maker's mark at shoulder. Very nice condition with a 1" hairline from rim, some minor surface wear, and a tiny nick to left handle.
