Twelve-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & / JONES. AGENTS. / GREENSBORO. PA", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring unusual Hamilton & Jones "AGENTS" stenciling, stenciled foliate motifs, and a stenciled number 12 at the shoulder and base. A 6" loss to rim on front. Some water glass staining to reverse and interior. A minor chip on interior of rim. H 21 1/4".
