One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock with 1868 Date, Northeastern U.S. origin, 1868, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, decorated with a slip-trailed graduated stripe design flanked by a dotted diamond motif. Inscribed "1868." below and "ONE." above. Chips and wear to right handle. Light wear to left handle. A 2" rim chip on reverse. Wear and a short surface crack to interior of rim. A short hairline from rim on front.
