One-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK STONEWARE CO.", Fort Edward, NY origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Excellent small size. Two in-the-firing burns to reverse. A chip to right handle and tiny nick to left handle. A chip and nick to rim on reverse. A 1 3/4" flake to underside at edge.
