One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "J. BEUTER / WAYNESBURG / PA.", circa 1875, semi-ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, featuring rare J. Beuter maker's stenciling interspersed with abstract freehand brushwork. Two rim chips, the larger measuring 1 1/2". A small drilled hole in underside.
