Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT", circa 1870, cylindrical jug with tapered spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a leaf. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. As-made condition with a 1 1/4" in-the-firing chip to reverse and a minor in-the-firing base chip.
