One-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to Nathan Clark, Jr., Athens, NY, circa 1840, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with brushed tulips motifs on the front and reverse. A thin 5" crack from rim. A rim chip on side of jar. A minor base nick.
