Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Foliate Decoration, Stamped "J. BURGER, JR. / ROCHESTER, NY", circa 1885, semi-ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of three conjoined leaves with shaded interiors. Slip-trailed "2." above. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark. Provenance: David Musser Collection. Very nice condition with two minor spout nicks, minor spout wear, and a small inverted U-shaped surface line to spout.
