Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to David Cobb, North Bridgewater, MA, circa 1830, highly-ovoid jar with heavily-tooled shoulder, large lug handles, and distinctive rim molding, decorated with three tulip plants extending up the front. The distinctive form of this jar leads to a firm attributed to the lesser-known Massachusetts potter, David Cobb. Very nice, as-made condition with two glazed-over chips to rim molding on reverse and some in-the-firing base chips, some of which are glazed over.
