Stoneware Canning Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va.", circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flared collar, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed swag and hanging flower motif applied over slip-coated clay. Impressed with Solomon Bell maker's mark at shoulder. Excellent condition with some very minor rim wear. H 8 3/4".
