Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "SOLOMON BELL / STRASBURG / Va", circa 1870, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and extruded lug handles, decorated with a brushed swag-and-hanging-flower motif on the front and reverse. Shoulder impressed with Solomon Bell maker's mark. Restoration to body and underside, not affecting decoration. A few rim nicks. An in-the-firing chip to one handle.
