One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Stenciled Cobalt Grapes Decoration, Stamped "BROWN BROTHER , / HUNTINGTON, / L.I.", New York State origin, circa 1870-1885, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a finely-stenciled design of a grape cluster hanging from a leafy vine. Light cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Provenance: Donald Matties Collection. A restored vertical crack on right side of crock's front. Restoration to reverse. Small chips to right handle.
