Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Ochre Tulip Decoration, Stamped "L. NORTON & SON / BENNINGTON", Vermont origin, circa 1833-1841, highly-ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with a brushed tulip in reddish-brown ochre slip. Good form, decoration, and maker. A small base chip. A small chip to interior of spout. A small piece of iron adhered to body of jug. A 5 1/4" hairline from spout on front.
