Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar with Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO. / PA.", circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling, a stenciled sunrise motif, a band of geometric motifs, freehand stripes below rim and at base, and a stenciled number 2 at base, flanked by stenciled flourishes. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some water glass staining to surface and initials in black marker on underside.
