Unusual Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Dog's Head Whimsey, Ohio origin, circa 1890, molded in the form of a dog's head with Bristol-slip-glazed surface and cobalt-decorated head and collar. Circular vent hole in underside. A partially glazed-over in-the-firing crack at base. A 1 1/8" crack on underside with small associated chip on underside. Some small, shallow chips to bottom edge. A partially glazed-over, semi-circular line to underside. H 3 1/2".
