Unusual Five-Gallon Double-Handled Stoneware Jug with McKeesport, PA Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jug with tooled shoulder, tall spout, and open loop handles, featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising "THO'S. MOORE. / WHOLESALE / LIQUOR DEALER. / McKEESPORT. PA". Brushed freehand stripe above advertising. Base with large freehand "5" flanked by dashes and underscored by a stripe. Desirable form and unusual advertising. One handle restored. Otherwise excellent condition. H 18 1/4".
