Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES. / GREENSBORO. PA.," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with freehand stripes and vining at the shoulder. Midsection with Hamilton & Jones maker's stenciling surrounding a stylized foliate motif. Base with freehand number 2, flanked by dashes and underscored by a stripe. An approximately 3 1/4" loss to rim on left side of jar. A 1 3/4" x 1" base chip on left side of jar.
