Scarce Two-Gallon Proctor, WV Advertising Stoneware Cake Crock with All-Seeing Eye Motif, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical crock with semi-rounded rim and applied lug handles, featuring the stenciled advertising "WM. ROGERS & CO. / PROCTOR / W. VA." Center of advertising with highly-unusual stencil of the All-Seeing Eye, now commonly found on the U.S. dollar bill. Additional small tulip stenciling flanking the advertising. Shoulder and base with freehand stripes. Base with freehand number 2 flanked by flourishes. Excellent condition with minor surface wear.
