Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "NEW YORK STONEWARE CO.", Fort Edward, NY origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with semi-squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird with long tail, perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Excellent overall condition with a minor spout nick, a minor in-the-firing nick to handle, a salt mark to base, and a chip to underside.
