Unusual Slip-Decorated Stoneware Flowerpot with Knob Handles, probably William Grindstaff, Knoxville, TN, late 19th century, squat-shaped, ovoid jar with highly-unusual, wheel-thrown knob handles at the shoulders, the surface dipped in a reddish-brown slip and covered in a salt glaze. Original drain hole in underside. Excellent form. A large Y-shaped surface line on one side, not visible on interior. Otherwise excellent, as-made condition. H 10".
