Unusual Half-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug with Pittsburgh Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with tall narrow spout and applied strap handle, featuring the stenciled cobalt inscription "HENRY EVERT. / WINES & LIQUORS / NO. 90 LIBERTY ST. / PITTS.". Excellent small size. Essentially as-made condition. In-the-firing shallow chipping to spout. A 1 1/4" in-the-firing chip to bottom edge of reverse, which is glazed-over. A small chip to base on front, which appears to be in-the-firing. A minor in-the-firing surface chip near base on left side of front. Two salt drips near base on reverse. H 9 1/2".
