Extremely Rare Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Mug, attributed to the Pfaltzgraff Pottery, York, PA, fourth quarter 19th century, salt-glazed mug with tapered base and flared rim, decorated on the front with a brushed cobalt tulip typical of the work of H.B. Pfaltzgraff. Albany-slip-glazed interior. The only salt-glazed mug with cobalt decoration produced at by Pfaltzgraff we have seen. Provenance: Recently found in Kentucky, this mug was purchased by the consignor's wife in the 1930s. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 5 1/2".
