Two-Gallon Lidded Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "BREWER & HALM. / HAVANA," New York State origin, circa 1855, squat-shaped jar with rounded shoulder, tall collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a leafy stem bearing four tulip blossoms. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Includes salt-glazed lid, possibly original to the jar. Numerous hairline on underside, one of which continues a few inches onto base. Bottom is warped. A few minor nicks on inner rim for lid. Lid with two salt drips and a large unglazed contact mark.
