Five-Gallon Stoneware Churn with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "W. ROBERTS BINGHAMTON NY," circa 1860, ovoid churn with applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of three flowers extending from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. 3/4" contact mark to reverse. 1 1/4" rim chip. 5/8" handle chip. Contact mark at base on side of churn. Contact mark with small piece of clay adhered to it at base. Minor nick to inner rim on interior of churn, where a lid would rest.
