Unusual Glazed Pottery Mug with Applied Lobster, Impressed "THE KIEFABER DELICACY CO. / NO. 24 MAIN ST. DAYTON O.," possibly Midwestern origin, early 20th century, tapered mug with tooled banding and applied handle, decorated with an applied decoration of a crayfish or lobster at center, and impressed with Dayton, Ohio specialty grocer advertising below rim. Surface covered in a streaky light-brown glaze over a yellowish ground. Little is known about The Kiefaber Delicacy Company, although this business is mentioned in a 1909 copy of The Cincinnati Herald. Excellent condition with a small chip and minor wear on interior of rim. H 4 1/2".
