Two Pieces of Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware, American, fourth quarter 19th century, a two-gallon crock with angled rim, cobalt-decorated with script "2" underscored with a curved cobalt stripe, probably Jane Lew, WV origin; paired with a five-gallon crock with slip-trailed looping line design below a script "5". Two-gallon crock with contact mark to front, nicks to bottom edge of rim, small glazed-over rim chip, and a contact mark to bottom edge of rim. Five-gallon crock with staining, two small chips to one handle, a chip to opposite handle, a 1 1/2" glazed-over rim chip, a 5 1/2" crack on front continuing several inches onto underside, and a short hairline at base.
