Scarce Three-Gallon Dover, Delaware Stoneware Advertising Jug, attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, late 19th or early 20th century, Bristol-slip-glazed shoulder jug featuring the slip-trailed advertising "Levy & Glosking, / Distillers of . Pure Rye Whiskey, / Dover. Del.". Rare size and unusual advertising. Brown salt drip to shoulder and shallow area of clay adhered to body during firing on reverse, each measuring 1 1/4". Two small chips to shoulder molding, one of which occurred in the firing. Roughness and shallow chipping on interior of spout. Minor nick on exterior of spout.
