Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, third quarter 19th century, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of two circular blossoms flanking curled trails, emanating from a scallop-edged base. Chip to end of one handle. Tiny nick to opposite handle. Thin 6" crack from rim on right side of jar. Minor chip and tiny nick on interior of rim.
