Three-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Bird Decoration, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1860, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, narrow semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed cobalt design of long-necked, spotted bird perched on a vine. Additional vine decoration above. Slip-trailed "3" at base. Significant restoration to one handle. (Handle possibly entirely restored.) Two restored rim chips. Restoration to a vertical line on interior of jar, which is not visible on exterior. Some restoration to base, presumably to chips.
