Salt-Glazed Stoneware Water Filter, Pasteur Chamberland Filtre Company, Dayton, Ohio origin, 1885, with tapered sides and squared bunghole, featuring a molded and applied plaque with patent information including maker and Feby. 1885 patent date. This piece is the filter base, without any of the filter medium present. Excellent condition with a few salt drips at base, and several salt drips on underside. H 10 1/4".
