Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1860, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder and flattened rim, decorated with three boldly-brushed, wavy stripes extending across the front. Base chip, which appears to be in-the-firing. Thin 6 1/2" crack extending up front. Cracks in underside, two of which extend a short distance onto base.
