One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stamped "S. BELL & SON / STRASBURG," VA origin, circa 1890, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder and squared rim, decorated with three groups of brushed cobalt swags applied over a slip-coated surface and covered in a salt glaze. Two large contact marks including a chip out of surface and pieces of adhered clay. Base chips. Small rim chips.
