Scarce Four-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. B. MAGEE," Washington County, VA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, thick semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed two-stemmed floral design on the front and back. Unusually large size for this maker with good decoration. Numerous small chips to bottom edge of one handle. Small chips to bottom edge of opposite handle. Minor rim chips.
