Three-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Churn, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1845, tapered cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and back with a brushed cobalt "3". Includes wooden dasher and wooden guide. Tight cracks to underside, one of which extends a short distance onto base. A few rim chips. Some minor chips on inner ledge where a lid would rest. Large glazed-over stone ping at base.
