Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Puzzle Jug, English, 19th century, Bristol-slip-glazed jug with elaborate pierced work, cobalt spot decoration, and brown-glazed rim, impressed "A PUZZLE / GENTLEMEN NOW TRY / YOUR SKILL IF YOU CAN / DRINK WITHOUT A SPILL". Excellent condition with an in-the-firing 3 1/2" glazed-over line on right side. H 8 1/4".
