Two Pieces of New England Stoneware, third quarter 19th century, a four-gallon crock with cobalt foliate decoration, stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," paired with a one-gallon jug with cobalt foliate design, stamped "S.L. PEWTRESS & CO / FAIR HAVEN, CONN." Norton crock with rim chips, large handle chips, base chips, staining, and minor line to shoulder. Pewtress jug with crazing at base, probably in-the-firing, and a horizontal crack in handle. H 11 1/2".
