Albany Slip Glazed Stoneware Gemel, Northeastern or Midwestern U.S., late 19th century, conjoined jugs with handle connecting the spouts, covered in a brown Albany slip glaze with additional Albany slip stripe extending around the base. In-the-firing separation on underside, extending 1 1/2" up one side between the jugs. This crack connects to a 1" x 1/4" loose sliver of clay near base, which appears to be in danger of falling out. This separation also extends onto the reverse, continuing through a 1" missing rectangular piece at base and continuing about 1" past this damage. Tiny fleck of glaze wear to one spout. Tiny line in opposite spout. H 9 3/4".
