Ovoid Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J. REMMEY / MANHATTAN-WELLS, / NEW-YORK," circa 1810, ovoid jug with tooled neck and applied handle, decorated with brushed cobalt highlights to maker's mark and handle terminals. A desirable early Manhattan maker's mark. Base chips, including one glazed-over base chip. In-the-firing semi-circular separation in underside. Two pieces of handle broken and reglued. H 14 1/2".
