Scarce Four-Gallon Stoneware Kentucky Advertising Churn, Western PA origin, circa 1875, decorated with straight and wavy freehand line decoration, a freehand "4" with flourishes, and advertising for "NEAL JONES / DEALER IN / FANCY & STAPLE / GROCERIES. / WINCHESTER ST. BET. 5th & 6th. / ASHLAND, KY." Handle terminals brushed w/ large cobalt circles. An unusual example of Western PA advertising stoneware. Rim chips. Height 16 1/2".
