Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Greene County, TN origin, third quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tall collar, flattened rim, and ribbed open-strap handles with depressed terminals, the surface covered in a salt glaze. Closely related in form to redware jars produced by Christopher Alexander Haun. Provenance: Purchased from Don Bible. One handle professionally restored. A professionally-restored rim chip. A small chip to interior of rim. Chipping around base. Some light surface wear. H 12".
