Miniature Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Decker Pottery, Washington County, TN, circa 1872-1910, ovoid pitcher with dramatic, flaring foot and tooled accents to base of collar and rim, brush-decorated with a vertical tulip motif ascending the base and dotted treatment flanking the spout. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Exhibited: Made in East Tennessee: Pottery, Museum of East Tennessee History, 1996; Tennessee Turned, Earthenware and Stoneware Made in East Tennessee 1800-1900, Museum of East Tennessee History, May 16-October 30, 2011. Literature: Illustrated in Wahler, Tennessee Turned, Earthenware and Stoneware Made in East Tennessee 1800-1900, Part One, p. 158, fig. 175, p. 176, pl. 26, and p. 222, fig. 175. Two adjacent pieces reglued at rim, forming a total of 1 1/4", including a narrow flake along break. Otherwise excellent condition. H 3 3/8".
