Salt-Glazed Stoneware Jug with Dramatic Glaze Runs, attributed to the Craven Family, probably John Anderson Craven, Randolph or Moore Counties, mid 19th century, ovoid jug with heavily-tooled shoulder, semi-rounded mouth, and heavily-ribbed handle, the salt-glazed surface featuring dramatic dark runs and lighter glaze spotting descending from the shoulder. Among the more beautifully-glazed examples of Craven family stoneware that we have offered. One spout chip. Otherwise excellent, essentially as-made condition. H 14 1/2".
