Scarce Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, attributed to the Decker Pottery, Washington County, TN, circa 1872-1910, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and ribbed lug handles, brush-decorated on the front and reverse with a tall, heavily-leafed plant culminating in a three-petaled blossom. Swag decoration below each handle. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Impressed "3" on top of rim. A loss to one handle. Minor chipping and light wear to opposing handle. Wear to rim and a few minor chips to facade of rim. Some light surface wear to body of jar. H 13 1/8".
