Three-Gallon Stoneware jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "COWDEN & WILCOX / HARRISBURG .PA," circa 1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, applied lug handles, and semi-rounded rim, brush-decorated with two large tulip blossoms and a bud emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark, capacity mark, and handle terminals. Staining throughout. Otherwise very nice condition with some wear to cobalt. H 12 3/4".
