Stoneware Keg-Form Cooler with Cobalt Floral Decoration, OH origin, mid 19th century, ovoid, keg-form cooler with tooled banding, squared bunghole at base, and circular opening in top, brush-decorated with two flowers emanating from a leafy stem. Cobalt highlight to bunghole. Very nice condition. Top edge of cooler with minor chips and wear. A 3/8" in-the-firing ping near base on reverse. Some small in-the-firing flaws and staining to surface. Some in-the-firing spalling to cobalt. A small, smooth in-the-making chip to opening in top, which is glazed over. A small, shallow chip to underside at edge. Bunghole with a minor chip to bottom corner and some additional wear to opening. H 14 1/4".
